Linear Regression (poor example)This is a featured page

This is an example of a poor entry for the wiki.

In linear regression we try to find the equation of the line of best fit.

Firstly, find r with the eqution on page 163.
If r is good enough according to the line chart in the middle of page 163, then you need to find the equation of the line of best fit using the equations in the blue box on page 172.

Example: see example 1, page 173.
Notice that r=a high number because the dots are close to the line.
Also, a=1.15, and b= -0.85, so the equation of the line is y= 1.15x-0.85.

Notice there aren't any equations given here; the reader is forced to look at the textbook and the wiki at the same time in order to understand this wiki entry. It is a very sparse entry. [0 marks]
Badly written example.
The given example merely quotes the answers from the book. The value of r is not even given. There is no explanatory text. [0 marks]
There is a spelling error. [1 mark for spelling and grammar]
There are only 2 tags when there should be 3. [1 marks]
This entry would have received a 2/8. There may be another 2 marks received with the comment.
