I cant seem to figure out this question? how many ways can you arrange 10 pairs of shoes in a row so that no 2 shoes match? ..any possible solutions?

all u have to do is multiply by 10x9= 90 den subtract 10 answer would be 80

hey we think you guys did a great job, everything is very clear and easy to understand. We think that your use of colour was helpful in understanding the examples. Our only piece of advice would be to separate your examples in a different way because we found it a little choppy in certain places. for e.x. the transition from NUMBER OF STAGES to Fundamental or Multiplicative Counting Principle.

there is a spelling mistake under a simpler method it says "nuber" instead of "number" other than that good job.

i think example 2 part (b) needs to be checked again.
1. a phone no. cannot begin with zero. so u should have exactly 9 choices in the first blank.
2. Next in part b, if u don't want the same no. to repeat, u have exactly 9 choices because now u can include zero but not the no. u selected as the first digit.Hence, 10-1=9.
3. In part (c) , the nos. should start from 9 not 10.......excluding zero
